St. Raphael  1954 to 1964, was the first company from outside cycling to be the main sponsor of a French team. The official name for the team was Saint Raphael-Raphael Geminiani.  Geminiani had just launched a bike brand of that name and claimed the  team name referred to him.  Many believe the bike brand was just a front as most of the money came from St. Raphael a brand of aperitif containing quinine.  The tour directors at the time were opposed to big commercial firms  involvement may threaten their control over the sport.

Daf Trucks -Cote D'or 1981       DAF Trucks was a Belgian professional cycling team that existed from 1979 to 1983. The main sponsor was the Dutch truck manufacturer DAF Trucks. The team rode with a Belgian license. The team management was in the hands of Fred De Bruyne and José De Cauwer.
