Molteni was an Italian professional road bicycle racing team from 1958 until the end of 1976. It won 663 races, many of them earned by its most famous rider, Eddy Merckx. It was sponsored by a Salami manufacturer from Arcore near Milan.

While Eddy Merckx is a Belgian rider who is widely seen as the most successful rider in the history of competitive cycling. His victories include an unequalled eleven Grand Tours (five Tours of France, five Tours of Italy, and a Tour of Spain), all of the five Monuments, three World Championships, the Hour Record, every major one-day race other than Paris-Tours, and extensive victories on the track. He has total 525 stage winning, a fantastic record that seems impossible to match until today.
